Japanese automakers at the Guangzhou Auto Show showed off some diverse moves in the EV race. But for us traders, the fluff doesn't matter. We only care about two things: Can we sell it at a good price, and will our reputation survive the sale?
Let's break down the "Big Three":
Dongfeng Nissan N6 (The Budget King):
Presale price is out, targeting the 100k-level PHEV market. ~180km pure electric (CLTC), fast charging. Friendly 4 city commuting. But don't let that "106,900 RMB" price tag blind u. The real cost isn't the invoice; it's compliance, spares, warranty, and depreciation. Does ur market have the parts network coverage? If not, cheap entry price = expensive exit later.
Bozhi 7 (GAC Toyota):
This is "Chinese Tech" meets Toyota Chassis. Big car, massive battery options (up to ~710km range), HarmonyOS cockpit + Huawei Drive One. Sounds like a safe, premium buy. BUT warning: High tech implies heavy dependency on OTA, domain controllers, and LiDAR calibration. If the local repair ecosystem in ur destination country isn't mature, this "luxury" ride becomes a "maintenance nightmare." Can u swap battery modules or update maps locally? If no answer, don't place the order.
Lexus ES:
Dual strategy here: Pure EV (350e/500e) vs. Hybrid. The EVs are for stats and luxury flex, but the Hybrid remains the safe bet 4 the biz/admin crowd. For u, the ES value lies in "Resale & Brand Backing." However, luxury buyers have high expectations. If after-sales service lags, that brand premium evaporates instantly.
Bottom line 4 overseas buyers:
Price is just the ticket to the game; supply chain & service determine if u profit or ruin ur name. Before signing, run this 5-point checklist:
Local parts availability (on hand, not 3 weeks out).
Manufacturer warranty & claim terms.
Remote software support (Can OTA, maps, & voice packs be localized?).
Battery warranty & retirement plan.
Local regs/certification & customs risks.
If u can answer 4/5, consider buying. Less than 3? Don't touch it.
